Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Turnkey Projects and Product/Equipment-Only Projects.
- Responsible for overseeing the project and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium sized projects (size in relation to GE company) that may include equipment-only, suites of products or non-turnkey projects.
- Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
- Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
- Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Min. 3 years experience in project management in a similar industry
- Fluent in English (Verbal and written, preferably French as well)
- Strong oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Established project management skills
- Enthusiastic, with a drive for results
- Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment.
- Proficiency in office IT suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Capable of working in a deadline-oriented environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the energy, preferably in transformer business
- Market and business understanding with strategy building experience would be a big asset
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills.
