“Phase IV arrives at a time when the country’s youth have reaped the advantages of almost 850 000 employment opportunities combined with training provided throughout this project.” The applications will be formally available on September 26, 2022, and will conclude on October 16, 2022. “This allows every youngster three weeks to apply,” the agency said.

All youth between the ages of 18 and 34 who live within a 5-kilometer radius of a school are encouraged to register on SAYouth.mobi and apply for the Education Assistant and General School Assistant employment opportunities.

“Access to SAYouth.mobi is free for youth because the site is zero-rated.” There will be no applications at schools, according to the agency.

The department has requested youth to note that, according to the new case law, any person working with vulnerable people (learners and disabled people) needs to be vetted, hence for Phase IV this is a requirement for placement.

The department said that it will communicate more information on requirements for placement in the next media statement.
